StartHere.care Launches Michigan Beta

Today, we're officially launching StartHere.care in Michigan.

After months of development, conversations with therapists across the state, and careful iteration on our matching approach, we're ready to open our doors.

What's Available Now

For therapists:

• All completely free, with no subscriptions or hidden fees

For clients:

• Take our matching questionnaire to clarify what you're looking for
• See therapists who align with your preferences
• Express interest and connect directly
• No insurance barriers. See all therapists, filter by what matters to you

Why Michigan?

We're a Michigan company, founded by people who know and love this state. Michigan has an incredible mental health community, with dedicated therapists serving communities from the UP to Metro Detroit, from small towns to university cities.

But we also know Michigan faces real challenges in mental health access. Rural areas with few providers. Long wait times in urban centers. The same frustrating search process that everyone faces, made harder by Michigan's size and diversity.

We can't solve all of those problems. But we can make the search itself better. We can help Michiganders find therapists who actually fit, whether they're in Ann Arbor or Traverse City.

Our Beta Approach

We're calling this a beta because we're still learning. We're actively:

• Onboarding therapists across Michigan who represent diverse specialties, approaches, and communities
• Refining our matching based on real feedback from users
• Building features that therapists and clients tell us they need

If you're a therapist and something about our platform doesn't work for you, we want to know. If you're a client and the matching doesn't feel right, tell us. This is the time to shape what StartHere.care becomes.

How to Get Involved

Therapists: Create your profile and join our growing network. It's completely free, and we're committed to never charging clients to use our platform.

Clients: Take the matching questionnaire to see therapists who align with your preferences. If we don't have therapists in your area yet, join our early access list, and we'll let you know when we do.

Everyone: Spread the word. If you know a therapist in Michigan doing great work, tell them about us. If you know someone struggling to find a therapist, send them our way.

What's Next

Over the coming months, we'll be:

• Expanding our therapist network across all of Michigan
• Adding features based on user feedback
• Potentially expanding to neighboring states

But for now, our focus is Michigan. We want to do this right in one place before we try to do it everywhere.
